ARTIFACT:

This is a 1950s distinctive insignia for the United States 101st Engineer Battalion. The DI shows a red cross against a field of white diagonally above the badge of the Essex Regiment and reads TENAX PROPOSITI (tenacious of purpose). The back of the D has a radiating spiderweb-like pattern.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1950s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/16" in height 15/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Two posts.
