This is a 1950s distinctive insignia for the United States 1015th Engineer Company and Engineering School at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The DI has the engineering castle in relief at its center and a lamp of knowledge at its top and reads ESSAYONS (let us try).
VINTAGE:Circa 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/8" in height and 1" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:None.
