ARTIFACT:

This is a 1940s distinctive insignia for the United States Army 2nd Coast Artillery Regiment. The DI is a golden bird perched upon a blue X and reads FIDUS ULTRA FIDEM (Faithful beyond the end).

VINTAGE:

Circa 1940s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/16" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold-plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

None.

ITEM NOTES:

This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months VAL90 LBDX12/11

CONDITION:

8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The DI shows only light wear and tarnish with some very minor oxidation.
