This is a 1940s distinctive insignia for the United States 62nd Coast Artillery Regiment by Meyer. The DI is a crest showing alternating red and blue sections with borders like fortress walls and a ring of silver stars at its center.
VINTAGE:Circa 1940s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/16" in height 7/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical post with come-under locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:N.S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK without shield maker mark.

CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): The DI shows almost no wear, except some abrasions to the reverse only.
