This is a 1930s distinctive insignia for the United States 3rd Engineer Battalion by Meyer. The DI is a displays a Roman numeral III at its center and a beaver, the arms of New Netherlands. The mammal is topped by a palm leaf.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/4" in height 3/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Single screw post with disc backing.
MARKINGS:N.S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK and maker mark.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The DI shows some very small spots of light wear and a small piece of the enamel is missing.
