ARTIFACT:

This is a 1930s distinctive insignia by N.S. Meyer for the United States Army 1st Coast Artillery Regiment, Harbor Defense, Panama Canal Zone. The DI reads PRIMUS INTER PARES (first among equals).
VINTAGE:Circa 1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/16" in height and 1-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Single screw post with disc backing.
MARKINGS:N.S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK, engraved crest maker mark centered at top on reverse of DI.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months VAL90 LBDX12/11
CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The DI shows some light wear and tarnish with some slight chipping of the enamel in one small area.
