Description
This is a circa 1920s or 1930s badge for the Chelsea, Massachusetts Police Department. The badge is in a custom die "clamshell" or "sunburst radiator" style, and is interesting in that it is topped by an eagle rather than the arm of Miles Standish. It is numbered on reverse. The badge was reconditioned (replated, pin and catch replaced) for use during the 1960s or 1970s.
