ARTIFACT:

Rare circa 1920 Boston Police Patrolman badge in the "clamshell" or "sunburst" radiator style. The reverse shows 1st numbering "serifed" style and large heavy pin. The badge originally had "C" style catch and separate retaining spring, but this badge saw long service, re-plating, and a fork catch replacement. The front of the badge reads: "POLICE" across the top and "BOSTON" along the bottom, the reverse is numbered 330.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with fork catch.
