This is a circa 1920s - 1930s Luckenbach Steamship Co. Chief Officer hat badge. Luckenbach was one of the longest-running shipping companies in the United States, starting in 1850 with only one tugboat and closing down in 197The badge reads CHIEF OFFICER and shows a wreathed flag bearing an L.

Wool embroidered in gold bullion and red cotton/silk threads with woven cotton backing.

6+ (Fine-Very Fine): Badge has some spots along edge where wool is missing or frayed and the bullion that once spelled CHIEF OFFICER was pulled out.
