Description
This is an old Postal Telegraph Company messenger hat badge by Robbins Company. The badge is shield-shaped and reads POSTAL TELEGRAPH 10. The Postal Telegraph Company began in the 1880s and merged with one of its competitors, Western Union, in the 1940s.
VINTAGE:Circa 1920s- or 1930s.
SIZE:About 2-3/16" in height and 2" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass with painted areas.
ATTACHMENT:Single screw post with two stabilizer pins (disc backing is missing).
MARKINGS:ROBBINS CO. ATTLEBORO.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The badge shows some light abrasions and part of the painted 10 is missing; disc backing is missing.
