This is a circa 1870s-1880s New Haven, Connecticut Fire Department mascot collar badge. The badge has an ornate NHHFD logo at its center and is still riveted to a piece of leather collar. I wonder what this Dalmatian's name was?
VINTAGE:Circa 1870s-1880s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-11/16" in height and 1-13/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated brass, leather.
ATTACHMENT:Riveted to piece of collar.
MARKINGS:None.
