ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1870s-1880s New Haven, Connecticut Fire Department hat badge. The badge has four points coming out of the center: the top and bottom ones read "NH" and "FD" respectively, and the other two show fire fighting apparatus in relief.

VINTAGE: Circa 1870s-1880s.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/8" in height and 2-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Two loops.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge shows some small areas of light wear and tarnish.
