This is a circa 1870s or 1880s Independent Fire Company Number 1 West B (so many West B town names, especially in New York, from where this badge looks to hail) Fire Department badge numbered 6An early Hand Pump Fire Engine on a cobblestone road is pictured at center and an eagle sits atop the badge.
VINTAGE:Circa 1870s-1880s.
SIZE:About 2-5/16" height and 1-3/4" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated brass with painted lettering and brass detail.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical kick pin with "C" catch.
MARKINGS:None.
