Description
This is a World War II Youth Men's Christian Association (YMCA) officer collar badge. The Association was started by a group of disillusioned young men in London in 1844 as a refuge from the social ills with which city life teemed. Nine years later the first American YMCA was set up at the old South Church in Boston, Massachusetts by a former sea captain. The badge is a golden eagle bearing a richly enameled triangle that bears the letters YMCA.
