ARTIFACT: This is a World War I Youth Men's Christian Association (YMCA) badge by B. Manufacturing Company. The Association was started by a group of disillusioned young men in London in 1844 as a refuge from the social ills with which city life teemed. Nine years later the first American YMCA was set up at the old South Church in Boston, Massachusetts by a former sea captain. The pin is an open red triangle with a blue bar reading Y.M.C.A. in white lettering.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 7/8" in height and 15/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with "C" catch.

MARKINGS: B. MFG. CO.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has a few small areas of discoloration to the enamel; all enamel is intact.
