Description
This is a World War I Youth Men's Christian Association (YMCA) badge by B. Manufacturing Company. The Association was started by a group of disillusioned young men in London in 1844 as a refuge from the social ills with which city life teemed. Nine years later the first American YMCA was set up at the old South Church in Boston, Massachusetts by a former sea captain. The pin is an open red triangle with a blue bar reading Y.M.C.A. in white lettering.
