Description
This is a World War I era Youth Men's Christian Association (YMCA) patch. The Association was started by a group of disillusioned young men in London in 1844 as a refuge from the social ills with which city life teemed. Nine years later the first American YMCA was set up at the old South Church in Boston, Massachusetts by a former sea captain. The patch is a red and white triangle with a blue banner that reads YMCA.
