ARTIFACT: This is a German-made distinctive insignia for the United States Army 78th "Lightning" Division. The DI is a red trapezoid with a gladiator-like Mars wielding a lightning bolt, and reads AUDACITER (audaciously), the division's motto.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: 1" height and 1-1/4" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gold-plated brass with red and white enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEX05 LFJX10/10 S(1)FJX2/15 SLABEX8/15

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): DI shows some light wear and discoloration along edge and all enamel is intact.
