WWII US Army 78th "Lightning" Division German-Made DI with Pin-Back

This is a German-made distinctive insignia for the United States Army 78th "Lightning" Division. The DI is a red trapezoid with a gladiator-like Mars wielding a lightning bolt, and reads AUDACITER (audaciously), the division's motto.

Circa World War II.

1" height and 1-1/4" width.

Gold-plated brass with red and white enamel.

Vertical safety-style pin.

7+ (Very Fine+): DI shows some slight discoloration on enamel, it is in slightly lesser condition, hence the lower price, the DI has a handsome tarnish.
