Rare US Army 78th "Lightning" Division Theatre-Made DI

This is a rare theatre-made distinctive insignia for the United States Army 78th "Lightning" Division. This insignia is a red trapezoid with a gladiator-like Mars wielding a lightning bolt, and reads AUDACITER (audaciously), the division's motto .

Circa World War II.

1" height and 1-1/4" width.

Gold-plated brass with red and white enamel.

Vertical safety-style pin.
