This is a World War II distinctive insignia for the United States 3rd Armored Field Artillery Regiment, which decades later became the 3rd Field Artillery Regiment. The DI is a crest divided by a chevron bearing four stars, and shows a lion's head, dragon and fleur-de-lis. At the top of the Di is a rising sun and an Aztec banner.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/4" in height 13/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:None.
