This is a World War II distinctive insignia for the United States 118th Engineer Battalion. The DI shows a white flag furled about a flagpole and reads FACTA PROBANT (deeds prove us). The 118th was changed into a military police battalion in the 1960s.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/16" in height and 1-1/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts on a bar
MARKINGS:None.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAL90 LABX10/11
CONDITION:7- (Very Fine-): The DI shows some light to medium wear and tarnish with some light oxidation and some minor cracks in the enamel (no enamel has been lost).
