This is a sterling silver distinctive insignia by Meyer for the United States Army 238th Engineer Battalion. This insignia shows some tools and a lightning bolt breaking through a chain and reads VICTORIA PER CONSTRUERE (Victory Through Construction).
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:1-1/8" height and 15/16" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated sterling silver with red and white enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under swivel catch.
MARKINGS:STERLING MEYER NEW YORK with maker's mark.
