This is a sterling silver United States Army distinctive insignia for the 78th Anti Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion. The DI reads WE SWEEP THE SKY and shows an aircraft silhouette against a red enameled keystone background.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/16" in height and 1" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver with enamel, brass pin.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under locking catch.
MARKINGS:Meyer maker's mark and STERLING.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The insignia has some small areas of light to medium wear and tarnish but all of the enamel is intact.
