Description
This is a World War II worker badge for the Todd Shipyards Corporation Los Angeles (San Pedro), California yard. Christened Los Angeles Shipbuilding in 1917, the yard continued to operate after World War I until the United States Navy acquired it in 194Todd Corporation of Brooklyn, New York, took over the yard's management in 194There is a paper insert within the badge reading 16 5501.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 2-3/16" in height and 1-5/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated brass, paper, celluloid.
ATTACHMENT:Two-piece badge, vertical safety-style pin, oval saddle.
