ARTIFACT: This is a World War II worker identification badge for the Bethlehem Steel Company's shipyards in Boston, Massachusetts. The oval-shaped badge is by Whitehead & Hoag. The badge has a photograph of the employee and is labeled DB 325. Although his name is not listed on the badge, this belonged to Salvatore Mandile. We have another badge of Salvatore's listed separately for sale (please see the link at the bottom of this page for more information).

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/4" in height and 1-3/8' in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass, celluloid, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: WHITEHEAD Š HOAG PAT APPL'D FOR NEWARK, NJ.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a war worker collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAEX12 LHEX5/12 SHEX11/13

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The badge shows some small spots of light wear and oxidation with some bubbling to the celluloid.
