WWII Submarine Launch Tag for the USS Thornback SS-418

This is a World War II submarine launch tag for the USS Thornback SS-418, launched from the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard on July 7, 194Thornback was the lead vessel in the wolfpack nicknamed Abe's Abolishers", and earned one battle star for her World War II service.

Circa 1944.

Approximately 2-1/16" in height (excluding 3-5/8" of string) and 1-3/4" in width.

Foiled card stock with silk string.

Punched hole with string.
