This is a World War II submarine launch tag for the USS Pintado (SS-387). The Pintado was launched on September 15, 1943 at the Portsmouth (NH) Naval Ship Yard and ran six World War II patrols. Her conning tower has been preserved and can be seen in a Texas museum.
VINTAGE:Circa 1943.
SIZE:About 1-3/4 in width by 2-1/8" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Foiled card stock.
ATTACHMENT:Silk string.
