WWII Submarine Launch Tag for the USS Sarda SS-488

This is a World War II submarine launch tag for the USS Sarda SS-488, which was launched on August 24, 1945 at Portsmouth (NH) Naval Shipyard. Sarda did not serve during World War II as the war ended a few weeks before her launching. She was commissioned the following year, and captained by the son of the famed Admiral Chester W. Nimitz.
