ARTIFACT:

This is a souvenir ribbon for the launching of the USS Odax (SS-484) from the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard. The Odax was launched on April 10, 1945 and after her 28 year career in the United States Navy became part of Brazil's Navy before being scrapped.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 5-1/2 in height and 2-5/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Printed magenta silk.
ITEM NOTES:This is from a United States Navy collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. LFJX3/11 SEJX05/20
CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The ribbon has minimal wear with one permanently bent corner.
