Description
This is a sterling silver distinctive insignia for the United States Army 29th Engineer Battalion. This battalion is the oldest of all United States military mapping units. The insignia shows a crest bearing a fleur-de-lis, four stars and an X and the reverse shows the initials "L. M.".
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:1-3/16" in height x 1" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated sterling silver with red, white and blue enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under locking catch.
MARKINGS:N.S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK STERLING with maker's mark.
