Sterling Silver WWII US Army 18th Coast Artillery Regiment DI Unit Crest

This is a sterling silver distinctive insignia for the United States Army 18th Coast Artillery Regiment Harbor Defense. This insignia shows a missile sailing over an octopus and reads TAM MARTE QUAM MINERVA (As Much by Courage as by Skill). Red enamel background has an interesting checkerboard pattern running through it.

Circa World War II.

About 1-1/4" in height x 1-3/16" in width.

Sterling silver with red, yellow and black enamel.

Vertical pin with come-under locking catch.
