This is a trench art box made by a German prisoner of war at Prisoner War Encampment #16 in France, possibly an American camp. The top of the rectangular box is removable and is engraved with the words 1945 P.W.E. #16 FRANCE. The legs of the box and accents are fashioned from whole and partial bullets.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:3-3/4" height and 5-9/16" width and 3-5/16" depth.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Aluminum box with brass bullets.
