Description

ARTIFACT:

Cool WWII Soldier's letter opener made out of aircraft parts in Italy by a Prisoner of War (POW). The handle is capped on either end with a brass coin and the grip is fashioned from resin and rubber aircraft parts, the opener blade is made of steel.

Approximately 9-1/2" in total length; Handle: 2-1/8" x 7/8"

CONDITION:

7 (Very Fine): The letter opener shows moderate wear, minor cracks/fractures can be seen in the layers of aircraft pieces on the handle (see photo), oxidation to opener blade, overall fine condition.
