Description
This is a United States Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Inspector and Chief Investigator grouping from Major Edward J. Lawler, who served in the China-Burma-India theatre. The lot includea silk hand-embroidered handkerchief from 1943 China; two shoulder patches; the Major's calling card, which reads MAJOR EDWARD J. LAWLER INSPECTOR & CHIEF INVESTIGATOR CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DIVISION CHINA THEATER UNITED STATES ARMY; a dated photograph of the Major during target practice; a fabulous red and blue insignia pin reading U.S. along with Chinese characters.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Handkerchief: silk hand-embroidered in cotton/silk threads; patches are both fully embroidered in cotton/silk threads; calling card: oaktag; photograph: original; insignia: gold-plated brass with beautiful blue and red enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Insignia: two tack pins.
MARKINGS:Calling card has Chinese characters and handwriting on reverse; photograph has a message and date; pin reads N.D.C. with Chinese characters on reverse.
