ARTIFACT:

WWII United States Army name strip of Edward J. Murphy Jr. CBI Theater-made strip reads: "EDWARD J. MURPHY JR." and beneath Chinese characters. The strip was for wear on the M-41 Field Jacket.

Circa WWII

SIZE:

Approximately 4-3/4" x 1-1/2"

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Embroidered silk, silk/cotton/polyester thread, canvas backing

ATTACHMENT:

None, was removed from uniform.

MARKINGS:

None.

This is from a US Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. TVEX16 LHEX3/16

CONDITION:

8- (Very Fine&emdash;Excellent): The name strip shows minor to moderate age/storage wear and fading to areas of thread (does not distract). Strip was removed from clothing, overall very fine condition.
