ARTIFACT: This is a great circa World War I United States Army engineer pocket compass in excellent condition. It is a USANITE model by Taylor of Rochester, New York, and was patented in 1915. The cover of the compass is engraved with a 1918 date and ENG. DEPT. U.S.A.

VINTAGE: Circa 1918 (World War I).

SIZE: Approximately 1-3/4" in width and 2-9/16" in height and 1/2" in thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Solid nickel case, painted steel face.

ATTACHMENT: Suspension loop, hinged case. The compass is opened by depressing the handle.

MARKINGS: TAYLOR ROCHESTER N.Y. PAT. APR. 20-1915.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBJX13 LABEX1/13 SABEX8/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The watch is in excellent condition: case is very clear, with light dust inside glass.
