Rare WWI War Worker lapel pin for the United States Ordnance Toluol Recovery Plants in New York City in 191The numbered lapel pin is enameled gilt brass, the white center depicts a US Shied in red, white, and blue with an eagle standing atop and: "U. S. WAR WORKER" below. A blue enamel outer ring reads: "TOLUOL RECOVERY NEW YORK, 1918". The reverse shows the number: "30" and a maker's mark that reads: "THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK, NJ"

SIZE:Approximately ¾" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Enameled, gilt brass
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with 'C' type catch.
