This is a wonderful circa eighteenth century night watchman's alarm bell, most likely from Massachusetts. It is in bronze with an iron handle. It is of simple construction with a single bead line. The clapper makes a strong and resonant tone.
VINTAGE:Circa 18th century.
SIZE:Approximately 12-1/2" in height and 6-3/8" in diameter (at base).
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Bronze, iron.
ATTACHMENT:Chain on clapper.

CONDITION:6 (Fine+): The bell has seen its fair share of wear and oxidation but is structurally sound and still rings true.
