This is an 1890s night watchman #1 badge for the Jordan Marsh & Company. Jordan Marsh was a pioneering chain of department stores Boston area dating back to 184This piece is a great example of an early security badge for an American store.
VINTAGE:Circa 189os.
SIZE:Approximately 1-5/8" in height and 2-1/2" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Nickel-plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal safety-style pin with C catch.
MARKINGS:None.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The badge shows some light wear and tarnish and some spots of the painted lettering are missing.
