This wonderful, beautiful, hand-made 5-point star badge for the Constable of Concord dates to the 1880's or 1890's (possibly earlier), and is quite possibly the FIRST Law Badge used in what is now the City of Concord California.
The badge was carefully hand cut from heavy sheet nickel, lovingly worked into a slightly convex shape, and boldly stamped in large serifed letters CONSTABLE OF CONCORD.
The badge has a stunning presence, light wear, and great patina, especially on back, where the original safety pin affixment is still in place.
