Description
This is a very rare World War II EK (Eisernes Kreuz) Kl. Ubergrosse / oversized Iron Cross 2nd Class, which measures 47 millimeters. The Iron Cross was reinstituted by Adolf Hitler, it having originally been a Prussian decoration. The Iron Cross was conferred for bravery in action and other meritorious military acts, and the 2nd class version hangs from a ribbon whereas the 1st class does not.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-13/16" square (not including ring) or 47 mm square.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass/tombak frame with steel center.
ATTACHMENT:Suspension ring.
