Description
This is a circa World War I Iron Cross First Class. The medal has an iron core with a silver-plated frame. The decoration was first created in 1813 by the King of Prussia, Friedrich Wilhelm III. The cross is nicely vaulted and has no maker marks. It shows a "W" at center for Wilhelm II topped by an imperial crown and reads 1914

SIZE:Approximately 1-11/16" in height and 1-11/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Iron, silver-plated frame.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical T-style pin with C catch.
