Description
This is a very rare World War I service medal from Hamilton, Massachusetts along with its original box. The medal is on a red, white and blue ribbon and the bar reads PRO PATRIA. The medal shows a bust of Alexander Hamilton, which is also the town of Hamilton's seal, and the reverse of the medal reads PRESENTED TO (blank) IN GRATEFUL RECOGNITION OF HIS SERVICES IN THE WORLD WAR 1917-1919.
VINTAGE:Circa World War I.
SIZE:Medal: 2-3/4" height and 1-3/4' width; box: 3-7/16" in height and 2-9/16" in width and 7/8" in depth.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Bronze, silk, velvet, cardboard, painted metal.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with "C" catch and hinged box.
