ARTIFACT: This is a rare Athol, Massachusetts World War I service medal named to George M. Dodge. The medal is on a red, white and blue striped ribbon and the front reads PEQUOIAG SETTLED 1735 ATHOL INC. 1762 and pictures the bust of Colonel John Murray. The reverse reads IN RECOGNITION OF SERVICE IN THE WAR FOR LIBERTY 1914-1919 and has Dodge's name engraved on a bar at center.

VINTAGE: Circa World War I.

SIZE: Approximately 2-5/8" height and 1-1/4" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Bronze/brass, silk ribbon.

ATTACHMENT: Safety pin.

MARKINGS: GEO M. DODGE.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. ebay LBHJX11/10

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): Medal shows light to medium wear and tarnish and ribbon is minimally frayed and faded.
