This is an Italian-made silver DI (distinctive insignia) pin for the United States Army Air Force's 449th Bomber Group. Pin is in the shape of a crest and depicts a winged horse crossing the path of a falling bomb.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:About 1-3/16" height and 15/16" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:800 silver with blue painted area.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with one-piece safety catch.
MARKINGS:Partially obscured maker's mark on reverse and 800.

CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The DI has some minor tarnishing on front and is moderately tarnished on reverse.
