This is a submarine patch for the USS Alabama (SSBN-731), a ballistic missile submarine. The Alabama was launched from Groton, Connecticut on May 19th, 198The patch bears the sub's motto, which is the same as the motto for the State of Alabama: AUDEMUS JURA NOSTRA DEFENDERE (We dare to defend our rights).
VINTAGE:Circa 1980s.
SIZE:Approximately 5" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered in cotton/polyester threads.
ATTACHMENT:None.
