Description
This is a distinctive insignia for the United States Army 39th Infantry Regiment by Meyer. The DI is a crest with a fleur-de-lis between two oak trees and a small boar's head in the upper left-hand corner. At the top of the DI is a falcon's head and an ivy leaf. The DI reads D'UNE VAILLANCE ADMIRABLE (with a military courage worthy of admiration).
VINTAGE:Circa 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/16" in height and 13/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:N.S. MEYER INC. NYC. and maker mark.
