ARTIFACT:

This is a 1940s distinctive insignia for the United States 8th Field Artillery Regiment by Meyer. The DI shows several symbols, including a cactus, the Lone Star of Texas, fish hook and star, and reads AUDACIEUX ET TENACE (daring and tenacious).

VINTAGE:

Circa 1940s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-3/16" in height 15/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical post with come-under locking swivel catch (swivel part of catch is missing).

MARKINGS:

N.S. MEYER. NEW YORK and raised shield maker mark.

ITEM NOTES:

This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months VAL90 LBDX10/11

CONDITION:

7 (Very Fine): The DI has some light wear and moderate tarnishing and swivel part of catch is missing.
