This is a 1940s distinctive insignia for the United States 8th Field Artillery Regiment. The DI shows several symbols, including a cactus, the Lone Star of Texas, fish hook and star, and reads AUDACIEUX ET TENACE (daring and tenacious).
VINTAGE:Circa 1940s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/16" in height 15/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical post with come-under locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:None.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The DI has some light wear and moderate tarnishing.
