Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a 1930s distinctive insignia for the United States 8th Field Artillery Regiment. The DI shows several symbols, including a cactus, the Lone Star of Texas, fish hook and star, and reads AUDACIEUX ET TENACE (daring and tenacious).

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-3/16" in height 15/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Single screw post with disc backing and stabilization pin.

MARKINGS:

N.S. MEYER INC. NEW YORK and engraved shield maker mark.

ITEM NOTES:

8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The DI has some light wear and moderate tarnishing.
